Test Day Guide

The Basics of Scoring on the CLT

There are 120 questions. If you get a question right, you get a point.

If you get a question wrong you do not get the point (Note: there is NO additional penalty for getting a question wrong, so you should make sure you answer every question, even if you have to guess on some of them).

So, you can score a 1 or a 33 or a 75 or a 113, etc. on the CLT.

Every single question counts as a point. The CLT is scored on a range from 0-120.

When will I get my CLT Test Results?

If you take the Digital CLT, you will get your test results in about one week. Sometimes, it will take a few extra days.

If you take the CLT on paper, it will be about a month before you get your results.

How to Improve Your CLT Score

If you want to improve your CLT score, you need to do three things:

  1. Understand the Test Structure
  2. Master Frameworks for each section of the Test
  3. Practice your New Approach

Here’s what that means:

Understanding the Test

The CLT is different than every other test you’ve taken.

We teach you how the test is different, strategies for the CLT because it’s different,
and how to answer every question type on the test.

You can think of this section as the Tips, Tricks, and Strategy portion of the Study Guide.

Proven Frameworks

Learn how to pick the right answers faster, so you feel calm, confident, and ready to win on test day.

Here’s an example of a framework you will learn that will help you on the CLT: “False or Irrelevant.”

On the Verbal Reasoning section, every incorrect answer is either False or Irrelevant,
which means the incorrect answers either contradict the facts of the passage
or do not answer the question that is being asked.

These frameworks will help you answer every question on the CLT with confidence.

Practice

Finally, it’s time to practice what you’ve learned.

We have over 550 Practice Questions and 3 Full CLT Practice Tests so you’ll know you’re prepared for test day!
